Slade Small sentenced after assaulting ex-partner
The director of a prominent boutique real estate agency on the south coast broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home while she was in bed her new partner.

A director of a boutique south coast real estate agency has been sentenced to a two-year intensive corrections order after breaking into an ex-partner’s home and assaulting her last year.
Nowra real estate agent Slade Audley Small, 30, from Tomerong, was sentenced by Nowra District Court judge Robyn Tupman on October 30 after he pleaded guilty in August to aggravated break and enter with intent/knowing persons there and domestic violence related common assault.
Judge Tupman also put in place a two-year apprehended domestic violence order. Court documents revealed Small’s victim and her new partner were asleep at a Bangalee address in the early hours of November 9 last year, while Small entered the home through an internal door from the garage.
The door lock had been damaged by Small during a previous incident, documents said.
Small, a director of Blackbird Real Estate, woke his victim with a noise she described as a “barge through the back door” at 1.55am.
A shirtless Small then walked into his victim’s bedroom, before screaming at her new partner to leave.
She pleaded with Small to calm down while standing between the two men, asking her new partner to leave in order to attempt to diffuse the situation.
As his victim walked towards the front door, documents state Small pushed her repeatedly to the chest and arms to prevent her from opening the door.
After 10 minutes, Small left his victim’s home before speeding off in his car, documents state.
Judge Tupman also ordered Small be supervised by a community corrections officer during the term of his intensive corrections order.
