A woman tested positive to multiple drugs after flipping and smashing her car on the NSW South Coast, a court has heard.

Sally Flakelar, 30, from Bawley Point, has pleaded guilty in Batemans Bay Local Court to driving with drugs in her system.

Drug testing which occurred after she crashed her car on the Princes Hwy east of Nelligan returned positive results for seven drugs, including methamphetamine.

Agreed police facts tendered to Batemans Bay Local Court stated Flakelar was erratically driving her car along the Princes Hwy between Big Bit Rd and Old Nelligan Rd in the early hours of August 30 last year.

“The accused said she heard voices in the back of her vehicle while driving, causing her to become distracted,” agreed facts stated.

Flakelar then lost control of her car, swerving into a roadway verge and flipping upside down.

“The vehicle has flipped onto the roof coming to a complete stop in the verge,” agreed facts stated.

“The rear passenger windows smashed as well as the rear boot window.”

Police attended the scene where Flakelar produced a negative breath test result for alcohol.

However, she later informed the officers she was under the influence of methamphetamine, or the drug ice.

“Police observation sighted the accused to be disoriented and her speech was slow and slurred,” agreed facts stated.

“The accused was under the influence of meth, commonly known as ice, to the extent that their driving was impaired.”

Flakelar was taken to Batemans Bay Hospital, where she was treated for minimal injuries.

A subsequent blood analysis returned positive results for amphetamine, methylamphetamine, diazepam or valium, nordiazepam, oxazepam, temazepam and alprazolam or xanax.

Magistrate Doug Dick acknowledged Flakelar’s brief traffic history, and adjourned until March 13 to allow Flakelar to complete the traffic offenders program.

Mr Dick also ordered a sentence assessment report be completed before the case returns.
