A man whose alleged dangerous driving on the NSW South Coast killed a woman and left others with serious injuries following a horror crash, is set to enter pleas to the charges more than a year on, a court has heard.

Robert Salerno, 40, was charged over the tragic incident more than a year ago, on December 30, 2022, on the Princes Hwy near Narooma.

The crash saw the Campbelltown, South Australia man charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, three counts of dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm and two counts of negligent driving following the crash.

Documents tendered to Narooma Local Court state the multi-vehicle crash killed 39-year-old Holly Deacon and injured Marcus Asalemo, Eric Asalemo and Alfreda Mareci with injuries.

Police allege Salerno was driving his Audi dangerously along the Princes Hwy when he crashed into multiple other vehicles.

Salerno last appeared in Batemans Bay Local Court on January 15 this year, where Magistrate Doug Dick said the matter had to begin moving forward given it’s seriousness.

In the same court on Monday, Salerno’s lawyer Gregory Goold said his client’s litany of charges would finally be certified “by end of business today”.

In the NSW court system, charges must be certified before pleas can be entered.

The certification process confirms the charges can be supported by the evidence.

Director of Public Prosecutions [DPP] representative Alistair Tonks said DPP was conversing with Salerno’s legal team to ensure everything was ready for pleas to be entered.

Mr Goold asked the court to adjourn the matter to February 19, where Salerno is expected to enter pleas to the charges.

Mr Dick did not oppose the suggestion, adjourning the matter by two weeks.

Salerno will return to Batemans Bay Local Court on February 19.
