A man charged with sexually touching multiple people without consent will defend the charges in a three-day hearing in October.

Richard Harrington, 54, from Malua Bay, was charged with seven counts of sexually touching another without consent, carrying out a sexual act without consent, and two counts of common assault.

Court documents state the alleged offending took place at Moruya and Malua Bay on several dates between December 24, 2021 and January 20. He has previously pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Harrington returned to Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday where the three-day hearing was confirmed by Magistrate Brian van Zuylen.

The hearing was originally supposed to take place on April 3, however Magistrate Doug Dick adjourned the matter until a day he would not be present as he knew Harrington personally.

“I would have an issue hearing this matter because I know Mr Harrington and I know the complainants,” Mr Dick said. Harrington remains on bail.
