Court documents have shed new light on a drugs bust in a busy south coast town last month, with more than 500 MDMA pills, cash and paraphernalia being seized by police.
Tony Vlahos was charged with drugs supply after a police search on February 3 of an industrial unit on the Princes Hwy in South Nowra retrieved 221 grams of MDMA and 0.34 grams of cocaine, according to court documents.
Around $800 in cash was also seized by police who believe it be the proceeds of crime, the documents state, as well as drug paraphernalia and mobile phones.
Officers from the South Coast Police District’s Proactive Crime Team conducted the Firearms Prohibition Order search of the property at about 7am after speaking with the 29-year-old.
Police searched the facility as well as a white Holden Colorado Ute inside.
Vlahos was arrested afterwards and taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with supplying prohibited drugs – greater than commercial quantity, dealing with the proceeds of crime, and possessing prohibited drugs.
He was denied bail in Nowra Local Court on February 4 and will remain behind bars after his case was adjourned until May 3 by Magistrate Viney on April 5.
