Police are appealing for a woman to come forward as they investigate the “suspicious” death of a man, who was found unconscious in bushland on the NSW south coast.
On Monday, NSW Police said Strike Force Bursteed had been established in December 2024 in a bid to investigate the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a 60-year-old man in North Nowra.
The investigation began after officers were called to a fire trail on a rural property on McMahons Rd on the evening of December 9, following reports a man had been found unconscious near a gas pipeline clearing.
NSW Ambulance also sent paramedics but the man, who had suffered serious head injuries, died at the scene.
Officers attached to the South Coast Police District established a crime scene.
Police, who are now appealing for information from the public, are especially interested in speaking to a woman who was seen in the area at the time.
Investigators have not provided a description of the woman but have urged her to come forward, believing she “may be able to assist with their inquiries”.
Police are also appealing for anyone who was driving along McMahons Rd and surrounding streets at the time, and who may have dashcam footage, to come forward and contact Nowra Police on 02 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
