Nowra, Cullburra, Bomaderry drug raids: Five arrested
Police have swarmed three properties near Nowra allegedly linked to a major MDMA and meth ring. Cash, a “substantial amount” of drugs, a luxury sedan, a gun and jewellery has been seized.

Five people have been charged following an investigation into the supply of illicit drugs on the south coast.
Detective Inspector Scott Nelson said three search warrants in Nowra, Culburra and Bomaderry were carried out in the early hours of Friday on a suspected criminal group supplying drugs in the region, with police seizing a “substantial amount” of MDMA and methylamphetamine.
He said the arrests come after close work between police and the community.
“We all know too much the scourge of drugs, what is causes in the community, and how it effects the most vulnerable in our community and the effect it has on their lives and their families,” he said.
Culburra woman Renee Baillie, 30, was charged with participating in a criminal group, three counts of supplying a prohibited drug, allowing a home to be used as a drug premises, two counts of dealing with the proceeds of crime, two counts of possessing a prohibited restrictive substance, possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Culburra man Malcolm David Cochrane, 31, was charged with participating in a criminal group, six counts of supplying a prohibited drug and supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis.
Nowra woman Amy Baillie, 34, was charged with two counts of participating in a criminal group, two counts of supplying a prohibited drug, possession of a prohibited weapon and two counts of dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Bomaderry man Caleb Baillie, 18, was charged with an outstanding arrest warrant, and 39-year-old man Mark Murphy was charged with contravening an apprehended violence order.
The investigation involved officers from the South East Region Enforcement Squad and Dog Unit.
During the searches, police seized cash, drugs, a BMW sedan, property believed to be stolen, jewellery and prohibited weapon.
“This is a continued suppression and disruptive activity we will continue to do in this area,” Detective Inspector Nelson said.
In June 2020, Strike Force Splinter was established by south coast Police District to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs, specifically methylamphetamine, in the Nowra area, police said.
All items seized during the operation will undergo forensic examination.
All five were refused bail to appear in Nowra Local Court on October 23.
Investigations are continuing, police said.
