A former high school counsellor who physically assaulted two students while at work has been ordered to undertake community service.
Noel Matthew Glyde, 56, of Dalmeny pleaded guilty to two charges of common assault against the teenagers in Narooma Local Court on December 17.
Magistrate Doug Dick sentenced Glyde, who was arrested on August 13, to a 12-month community corrections order and fined him $750 for each assault.
The historic assaults took place while Glyde was a counsellor at Bega High School between February, 2017, and February, 2018.
Court documents reveal Glyde assaulted the first girl in early 2017, and the second assault took place in early 2018.
Two further charges of assault were withdrawn by police prosecutors.
Glyde, who initially pleaded not guilty, was arrested on August 13 and was under strict bail conditions which include not entering the town where the alleged offences took place.
