Man killed in ute crash at Burrawang, Southern Highlands

A man is dead after his vehicle slammed into a tree at Burrawang in the Southern Highlands last night. What is known so far.

A man is dead after his ute struck a tree at Burrawang in the Southern Highlands last night.

Emergency services were called to the Illawarra Highway just west of Robertson shortly before 6 o’clock following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to The Hume Police District were told a vehicle had left the road and hit a tree.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene.

The man believed to be aged in his 50s but is yet to be formally identified.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are underway and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
