Man charged with more than 35 offences after alleged string of robberies
A female police officer was allegedly kicked during a dramatic arrest at a south coast carpark, with police charging a local man with more than 35 offences, including armed robbery.

A female police officer was allegedly kicked in a “violent” struggle with police at a south coast carpark as officers arrested a local man for more than 35 offences, including armed robbery.
The dramatic arrest took place outside an East Nowra shopping centre at about 8.30am on Tuesday, with police charging the 18-year-old with a string of alleged robberies over the past week.
Investigations began following the alleged robbery of a bakery on Paradise Beach Rd in Sanctuary Point at about 6.20am on March 25.
On Tuesday, investigators were notified of another alleged theft, this time at a hotel on Kinghorne St in Nowra at about 5.20am, where a woman’s handbag was stolen.
The man was restrained after the arrest and taken to Nowra Police Station, while the officer did not require further treatment.
The 18-year-old was refused bail and will appear before the Nowra Local Court on Wednesday charged with numerous offences, including:
- robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon
- aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence with people present
- aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence
- entering enclosed land without a lawful excuse
- six counts of break and enter into a house and theft
- 13 counts of larceny
- five counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception
- car theft
- two counts of shoplifting
- resisting an officer in the execution of duty
- assaulting an officer in the execution of duty
- possessing a prohibited drug
- breach of bail.
