A woman accused of sneaking methamphetamine into a South Coast prison did so in a bid to provide an inmate with the drug, a court has heard.
Kristen King, 27, fronted Nowra Local Court following allegations she slipped the drug into South Coast Correctional Centre on December 12 last year.
Court documents allege the Sanctuary Point woman successfully managed to get the drug into with the intention of giving it to an inmate.
The quantity of methamphetamine was not disclosed in court documents.
The court heard an investigation into the alleged methamphetamine smuggling led to King’s arrest earlier this year.
She was charged with bringing a prohibited drug into a place of detention, supplying and possessing a prohibited drug and is yet to enter pleas.
King appeared in court for the first time since the alleged offence on Tuesday, with her lawyer, Edward Anderson, requesting a lengthy adjournment.
Mr Anderson told the court his client would likely enter pleas at her next appearance.
The case was adjourned to April 1.
