A man has been refused bail after allegedly invading a home on the NSW south coast armed with a scoped rifle.
Kaylob Philpot was arrested and charged in August after allegedly breaking into a Nowra home with a scoped 4570 caliber lever action rifle.
The alleged home invasion saw the North Nowra man charged with specialty aggravated break and enter into dwelling with dangerous weapon, possess shortened firearm, possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition without a licence or permit, acquire firearm with a licence or permit and not keep firearm in safe place.
Philpot is yet to enter pleas to the charges.
Documents tendered to the court state Philpot allegedly broke into the Quickmatch St, Nowra home, while the owner was inside, on the evening of August 27.
Police allege the 27-year-old entered the home while holding the gun and left shortly afterwards. He was arrested at his home the following day.
He was refused bail in the Nowra Local Court the same day and charged.
In the same court on Tuesday, Philpot’s lawyer, Ronald Davis, said an adjournment was needed as discussions between all parties were ongoing.
He also indicated a brief of evidence would be served on the next occasion.
Magistrate Lisa Viney did not oppose the request, adjourning Philpot’s case to November 19.
