Plans to expand a massive housing estate have been revealed for the South Coast community of Rosedale — which will add a further 42 homes to the beachside suburb.
The residential subdivision plans, which include 40 residential lots ranging in size from 648 to 1405sq m, and two rural lots at 2276 and 11,448sq m, were recently on exhibition at Eurobodalla Council.
A planner for the developer, Rosedale Farm, said the proposed site was approximately 8.5 hecates and was previously part of an “agricultural holding and has been extensively cleared”.
“The proposal represents a carefully considered and site-sensitive planned sub-division proposal to meet an increasing demand for residential accommodation land in a coastal setting,” the planner said.
The masterplan for the expanded residential community at 1664 George Bass Drive, Rosedale, said minimal vegetation clearing would occur, while the “Retention of existing forest vegetation surrounding and within the development land (would occur) to retain wildlife corridors”.
A vision to redevelopment the land into a residential community has been in the pipeline since, at least October 2017, when consulation began with Eurobodalla Council.
The massive residential proposal will go before the local planning panel following the completion of exhibition of plans on Friday.
