A Nowra man has admitted to robbing a teen Maccas worker in a terrifying incident as he walked home from his shift.

On Tuesday, Drew Craig, 22, pleaded guilty to a single count of robbery in company after he and co-offender Caeleb Flentjar pulled up in a car along the boy as he was walking home in July last year.

While he was walking along Leatham Street, about two blocks away from Nowra McDonald’s, a maroon sedan pulled up beside him, according to court documents.

The men had their faces covered with bandannas had hoods over the top of their heads when they treatened the boy.

The offenders got out of the car and one of the men told the victim to hand over his Samsung phone. The boy did but refused to give him the PIN code.

According to court documents, Flentjars threatened to stab the boy if he didn’t tell them what the pin code was. The victim looked down at the man’s hand and saw that he was holding a “bladed object that looked like a file with a blunt edge and brown handle” and he decided to tell them his pin code.

They then wrestled the boy’s backpack from him before both offenders hopped in the car and left.

About 7.57pm that night, police pulled over the car on Jervis Street, about 200 metres from where the crime occurred, and saw the backpack on the back seat with the victim’s wallet.

Craig has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Nowra District Court on June 17 where the judge is expected to set a sentence date.

A charge of robbery armed with an offensive weapon was withdrawn and dismissed.

Co-accused Caeleb Flentjar returns to Nowra District Court for sentence on June 22.
