A Jervis Bay restaurant has been forced to close its doors after two diners on holiday have tested positive to COVID-19.
Huskisson’s south-east Asian inspired restaurant Wildginger has alerted followers it will be closed for two weeks while their affected staff complete mandatory quarantine.
The owners of the Jervis Bay restaurant, situated on Owen Street, were notified that two patrons, who dined at the premises on Saturday, August 8 from 8pm returned positive tests yesterday. The news has left owners reportedly devastated.
“Please be advised that at this time, none of our staff have tested positive for COVID-19 and the incident was from patrons visiting from Sydney,” Wildginger posted to Facebook.
“The matter has now been taken over and is being handled by the NSW Department of Health. They will be directly contacting anyone who was at Wildginger during the ‘at risk hours.’
“We are devastated at the news of this and will be closed for the next 2 weeks whilst our affected staff are in mandatory, two week quarantine.
“Rest assured we have remained 100 per cent compliant with all rules and guidelines regarding COVID-19 and our procedures were verified and approved by local police on Saturday night during a routine inspection, and the NSW Department of Health today (Tuesday).
“We look forward to reopening again soon.”
Regular diners took to social media to voice their support with many declaring they will return to the wine bar once it reopens.
