Brie Ebsworth from Batari Brows in Ulladulla voted best brow technician on the south coast

After putting out a call for nominations for the south coast’s best eyebrow technician of 2020, and counting the votes in our online poll the winner can be revealed.

Readers of The South Coast News have voted, and Brie Ebsworth from Batari Brows in Ulladulla has taken out the gold.

The 18-year-old, who has only been in the game for two years, said she was “amazed” and “shocked” by the announcement.

“I love the industry and working with clients,” she said.

“It feels more like a catch-up than work, and I also like the creative side of the job.

“I love it.”

Ms Ebsworth said she had always visited the business’s owner Rachelle Basile, who is also a friend of her mum, and had an interest in beauty when she approached Ms Basile for work.

“Working alongside Rachelle is amazing,” she said.

“It always helps to work alongside a boss like her. She’s taught me everything I know.

“We even have clients visit from as far away as Canberra.”

She said all brows are unique, and the art has to take into account client’s facial structures in getting the perfect brow.

“I always tell my clients to stay away from using tweezers themselves,” she said with a laugh.

Despite her win, her foray into the brow world may be short lived as she intends to move to Wollongong to study social work next year.

“I’ve always been passionate about working with people and I want to impact people’s lives,” she said.

“I want to work with children and get them out of vicious cycles of abuse.”
