Bomaderry man Maxwell Garnett fronts court over alleged shooting
The identity of a 35-year-old man charged over an alleged backyard shooting at Bomaderry has been revealed in court for the first time.

A Bomaderry man has faced court over allegations he injured two men during a terrifying alleged shooting in the backyard of a Cambewarra Road home on Tuesday.
Maxwell Derek Garnett, 35, was remanded in custody after he was charged with two counts of discharging a firearm intending to cause grievous bodily harm.
Garnett did not apply for bail at his first appearance in Nowra Local Court on Thursday, August 27.
In documents tendered to the court, police allege Garnett, who lives on Cambewarra Rd, used a .303 rifle, injuring two young men between 10.50pm and 10.55pm at Bomaderry on August 25.
He was also charged with possessing a black, plastic pistol resembling a Glock, possessing knuckle dusters, possessing a taser, using a prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order and acquiring a pistol – subject to firearms prohibition order.
An 18-year-old allegedly suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach as a result of the alleged incident and was flown to Liverpool Hospital, while a 25-year-old man allegedly suffered a gunshot wound to his elbow and was taken to Wollongong Hospital.
Both men remain in hospital in a stable condition.
Magistrate David Williams formally refused bail on Thursday. No pleas were entered and the matters will return to Nowra Local Court later this month.
