A 23-year-old man has died on the state’s south coast following a three-vehicle crash about 5.30pm Tuesday, near Bimbimbie.

Specialist police are investigating the deadly incident which took place at the intersection of the Princes Hwy and Old Mossy Point Rd, near Bimbimbie.

Eurobodalla mayor Matthew Hatcher, who was at the scene at the time of the crash, saw how the tragic accident unfolded.

“It was a terrible accident,” he said. “It was absolutely awful.”

Mr Hatcher said he watched as the 23-year-old’s hatchback was pushed from behind, causing him to hit oncoming traffic in the opposite lane.
