A man allegedly involved in a major south coast drug bust which saw officers find a cocaine stuffed ‘Bluey’ toy has breached his bail.

Fraser John Unterweger, 24, from Batemans Bay, admitted to breaching his bail after being charged with supplying a prohibited drug, as well as taking part in the supply of a prohibited drug; supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis; possession of a prohibited firearm; participating in a criminal group; and contributing to criminal activity.

He maintained pleas of not guilty to all charges.

Unterweger was allegedly one of four men busted in a police raid which targeted the sale of drugs along the NSW south coast.

Police launched simultaneous raids across the Batemans Bay area on September 28, 2022, with ACT Police conducting two more searches in Braddon and Mitchell.

According to court documents, officers allegedly located and seized seven firearms, gel blasters, a replica handgun, ammunition, gunpowder, two poker machines, and about one kilogram of tobacco.

A cocktail of drugs, including cannabis, steroids, and a crystallised substance believed to be MDMA, were also allegedly seized, along with $1600 in cash, a hydraulic pill press, and a prohibited laser pointer.

Police also discovered the soft ‘Bluey’ toy from the hit Australian children’s television program stuffed with cocaine.

Unterweger’s lawyer, Kel Clowry, asked Magistrate Doug Dick for a two week adjournment. However, the Magistrate said he wanted the breach dealt with.

“We need this bail breach finalised today,” he said.

The bail was breached when Unterweger contacted one of the other defendants involved in the matter.

“Bail conditions are definite,” Magistrate Dick said.

“You need to abide by them, there’s no wiggle room.”

Despite this, the initial bail was ruled to continue, however Unterweger was warned not to breach it again.

“It will be a lot harder to obtain bail if you do this again,” Magistrate Dick said.

“I understand,” Unterweger replied.

Unterweger will return to Batemans Bay Local Court next month.
