Investigations into a South Coast police officer accused of domestic violence have concluded as he faces the possibility of criminal charges, a court has heard.
Andrew Tyler, 49, appeared in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday before Magistrate Doug Dick, weeks after being served with an apprehended domestic violence order by someone close to him.
The court heard investigations into Tyler — a well-known local officer and former detective in the Eurobodalla — had officially concluded.
Tyler’s lawyer said the officer in charge was now considering laying charges against the Batemans Bay Police Station officer.
He asked the court for a one-week adjournment, during which it would be revealed whether charges had been filed.
“The officer in charge has completed investigations, but we are seeking an adjournment as she is now considering charges,” he said.
Tyler will return to court on August 4.
