A teenager has handed himself into police shortly after a high speed pursuit where two police cars were rammed in the Hunter Valley on Wednesday.
Police allege the 17-year-old was seen driving a PT Chrysler Cruiser through the Hunter Economic Zone, Pelaw Main, just after 6pm at excessive speed.
Police were unable to stop the vehicle before a pursuit initiated, which continued on to Hospital Rd, Kurri Kurri before swerving onto a dirt track into dense bushland.
The vehicle then quickly reversed and smashed into two police vehicles, causing minor damage, before it sped away and the pursuit was terminated.
A short time later, the Cruiser was found in Hebburn Rd, Pelaw Main.
While waiting for a tow truck, the alleged teenage driver then returned to the scene with a support person and spoke with police before being arrested.
