Two rather relaxed blokes in Newcastle have created a spectacle for onlookers on Sunday, spotted getting about in motorised lounge chairs.
Witnesses have reported the pair travelling down footpaths and crossing at the lights at numerous locations including Islington, the Newcastle Foreshore and even down Beaumont street at Hamilton.
It is believed the motorised lounge chairs made their way to the Big Boys Toys expo next to McDonald Jones Stadium.
It added a degree of hilarity for most people’s Sunday, giving the bearded men a beep or a wave as they cruised on by.
Gary Brush was at the Brewery on the Newcastle Foreshore enjoying the day when he saw the two men coast by and took a video.
“We just saw these two blokes cruising along in their chair,” Mr Brush said.
“It must have been an electrical powered disabled chair and they just had the recliners mounted to it and controllers on the arm rests of the chair.
“It looks like these guys have manufactured them.
“They were just a couple of hipster sort of dudes cruising around and taking in the day, yesterday was a beautiful day.”
The motorised chairs feature on Instagram page LazyBoy MC with various photos of the chairs getting about.
One post has one of the men hanging with Newcastle city council workers, relaxing on the side of the road.
