A Lake Macquarie court house is being deep cleaned today after it was confirmed a member of the court had tested positive to COVID-19 during the week.
The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) have issued a statement saying the person last attended the Toronto Court House on Monday, July 27, and the positive result was received yesterday evening.
It’s likely the person was infected at the Apollo Restaurant in Sydney’s Potts Point.
As a precaution, cleaning of the courthouse is underway today.
All close contacts of the person have been identified and are being contacted by NSW Health.
As a precaution anyone who attended Toronto Court House between 7am and 2pm Monday, July 27, is being urged to monitor for any flu-like symptoms.
If any mild symptoms develop, court goers are being asked to self-isolate and seek urgent testing.
DCJ said it will continue to work with NSW Health and carry out all necessary measurements to protect the safety of staff, court users and the community.
The court house will be open tomorrow as per usual.
