Newcastle frontman Daniel ‘Jimmy’ Hanson charged over sexual grooming of four young females
A Cooks Hill man, Daniel ‘Jimmy’ Hanson, frontman of Newcastle bands, has been charged with 10 offences after it’s alleged he sexually groomed four young females after meeting them at live gigs where he played at between 2008 and 2014.

The lead singer for well-known Newcastle bands has been charged over the alleged sexual grooming of four young females in the Hunter region between 2008 and 2014.
Daniel Hanson, 32, also known as ‘Jimmy’ Hanson, a frontman for ‘Falling for Beloved’ and ‘We Built Atlantis’ fronted Newcastle Local Court this week after being arrested by police at his place of work on Darby street, Cooks Hill.
Newcastle detectives commenced an investigation in March following multiple complaints from female victims aged between 14 and 20.
Police allege the 32-year-old used his status and popularity to sexually groom his female victims after meeting them at live gigs where he played at.
Mr Hanson has been charged with ten offences including four counts of aggravated sexual assault - victim under 16, two counts of indecent assault, one count of incite to commit an act of indecency with a victim 16 years and over, and three counts of common assault.
He’s been bail refused to appear at Newcastle Local Court in October.
