Military police have helped arrest a senior Williamtown RAAF member for allegedly procuring a young teenage girl for sex.
The officer, 48, was taken into custody at the base on Tuesday following a month-long investigation by the NSW Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad’s Child Exploitation internet Unit.

Police will allege that the man believed he was speaking with a 13-year-old girl and engaged in conversations about sexually explicit acts he wished to perform on the child and sent sexually-explicit material.
The investigation led to the arrest at the RAAF base about 12.30pm today.
A search warrant was executed at a Medowie home, where detectives allegedly seized laptops, mobile phones and electronic storage devices.
The man was taken to Raymond Terrace police station and charged with using a carriage service to procure person under 16 years for sex and two counts of possessing or controlling child abuse material using carriage service.
He has been refused bail to appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court on Wednesday.
