Queens Wharf fire, Six Degrees: Emergency services rush to restaurant blaze

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a restaurant fire at Queens Wharf on Thursday morning. Fire crews were quick to get it under control and extinguished.

Emergency services rushed to a fire at Queens Wharf, Newcastle on Thursday morning.

Four trucks from Fire and Rescue NSW quickly gained control of a blaze that started at the waterfront restaurant, Six Degrees, just before 11:30am.

The fire - which has now been extinguished - is believed to have started and been contained in the flu of the restaurant.

10 people were evacuated, but no one was injured, with ambulance on scene as a precaution.

Onlookers reported smoke billowing from the wharf area.
