Matt Murdoch facing extra fraud charges after allegedly posed as a medical professional, businessman
Police allege Hunter man, Matt Murdoch used several aliases to fraudulently obtain more than $40,000 from clients between April last year and July. He’s been bail refused.

Detectives charged a Hunter man with additional fraud charges after allegedly posing as a medical professional and senior business executive.
Matt John Murdoch, formerly known as Matt Mills or Reverend Doctor Matt John Peter Murdoch, who was charged in June and remains before the courts, was again arrested by officers from Strike Force Corymbia at a unit in Hamilton South on Tuesday morning.
The 54-year-old was taken to Newcastle Police Station and charged with an additional eight offences including obtain financial advantage by deception, two counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, use false document to obtain property, two counts of aggravated break and enter and two counts of do act intending to pervert the course of justice.
Police allege he used several aliases to fraudulently obtain more than $40,000 from clients between April last year and July.
In Newcastle Local Court on Tuesday, Murdoch pleaded not guilty to all charges.
He was refused bail, with his matters adjourned until later this month.
In November last year, detectives from Lake Macquarie Police established Strike Force Corymbia to investigate alleged fraudulent offences in the Lake Macquarie region committed by the then 53-year-old man.
Investigations are continuing. Anyone who may have information which could assist investigators is urged to come forward.
