Newcastle Police are trying to track down a female pedestrian, who may have been a witness to the death of a cyclist last year.
On March 20, 2019, emergency services were called to the intersection of King and Perkins streets in Newcastle East at about 9.20am after a cyclist a truck collided.
Police were told the truck was turning left from King Street into Perkins Street, when the collision occurred.
The cyclist - a 56-year-old woman - was treated by paramedics at the scene but later died.
The truck driver was uninjured and taken to Mater Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and now almost a year and six months on are appealing for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.
In particular, they’re hoping to get in touch with a female pedestrian who was crossing the King Street pedestrian crossing immediately prior to the collision.
Anyone who may have seen the cyclist or truck prior to the collision, witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage, is urged to contact Newcastle Police.
