Nelson Bay: Mercedes driver allegedly drunk behind the wheel, crashed into another car injuring person

A man will go to court next month after he allegedly blew six times over the legal limit when he crashed his Mercedes into another vehicle, injuring one person, in Nelson Bay.

A man driving his Mercedes has crashed into another car, injuring one person, while allegedly more than six times the legal limit in Port Stephens on Tuesday.

Police allege the 47-year-old was driving on Hardy Street, Nelson Bay, when he slammed his vehicle into a Hyundai Accent at about 3.50pm.

One of the three people inside the Hyundai suffered minor injuries while the driver of the Mercedes was uninjured.

Port Stephens-Hunter Police breath tested the man and he allegedly returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Nelson Bay Police Station, where he was again tested and allegedly blew 0.326.

He was charged with drive with high range PCA and was granted conditional bail to appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court next month.
