Kirby Armstrong, ex partner of Ewan Sams, to face drug charges
A Cessnock woman whose partner was allegedly hit and killed in his own backyard by a love rival according to police, has now been charged with ongoing drug supply.

A Cessnock woman, whose partner was allegedly run down and killed in his own backyard by a love rival according to police, has been charged with drug supply.
Strike Force Lirki detectives were investigating the death of Ewan Sams, 36, when they received information about the ongoing supply of methylamphetamine and cannabis in the Hunter Region.
Police arrested Kirby Armstrong, 33, at Silverwater jail on July 2.
She’s been charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis and one count of supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug. She’s not accused with any involvement in Mr Sam’s death.
Joshua Walker Smith stands accused of using his four-wheel drive to hit and kill Mr Sams on September 25, 2018 in his own backyard at Edith St, Cessnock. He’s been charged with murder.
Police allege the pair had both been dating Ms Armstrong, when Mr Smith became jealous and allegedly murdered Mr Sams.
An almost two year investigation saw the arrest of Mr Smith last month.
Ms Armstrong appeared via video link at Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday and made no application for bail.
Her matter has been adjourned until September.
