POLICE believe human remains found at Fern Bay on Wednesday belong to a Carrington man who has not been seen since October.
A crime scene was established after the remains were discovered in bushland near the intersection of Popplewell and Taylor roads about 1pm.
A close inspection of the scene by specialist police has ruled out any suspicious circumstances.
It is understood the remains belong to a Carrington man, believed to be aged in his 40s, who had not been seen or heard from since October.
He had not been reported missing before the remains were found. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Police confirmed yesterday that the remains did not belong to missing men Steven Fenwick, who disappeared nearby earlier this year and is suspected to have been murdered, or Michael Fowler, who has not been since vanishing from Williamtown in 2015.
