Police are investigating the death of a three-month-old baby girl in Newcastle last week.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Fowler St, Hamilton South, on Tuesday August 4, after the baby was found unresponsive.
The child was rushed to John Hunter Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Newcastle detectives established a crime scene at the unit, as it was examined by specialist forensic police.
A post mortem has been conducted and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
No charges have yet been laid.
