Floraville Public School football team win final of the NSW state knockout competition
The Floraville boys’ football team took out the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) football knockout competition at the NSW Football Centre in Sydney.

Celebrations all around after Floraville Public School defeated the reigning champions at the NSW state knockout football competition.
From 1,800 primary schools across NSW, the Floraville boys’ team progressed to the Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) state finals at the NSW Football Centre in Sydney on Monday.
In an thrilling match, Floraville were crowned champions with a 1-0 win in the grand final against King Park Public School.
Principal Simon Mulready, said it was an incredible achievement for a Hunter primary school to compete against the best teams in Sydney and claim the title.
"I've been delighted to receive phone calls from other Newcastle schools, who we played in earlier rounds of the competition,” Mr Mulready said.
“They got in touch before the finals to wish our boys the best of luck.
“The Floraville community have also supported the team, with fundraising towards the boys' accommodation expenses and uniforms.
“I am tremendously proud of what the boys have achieved, not only for the school, but also for the Hunter."
The NSW PSSA State Knockout Competition has a history of unearthing great sporting talent.
Socceroo superstar Aaron Mooy won the knockout competition when he was a student at King Park Public School.
