Dora Creek: Man charged with affray, assault after alleged footy brawl
Following extensive inquiries into a football brawl at Dora Creek, a 22-year-old man attended Newcastle police station about 8.30am on Monday where he was arrested.

A man has been charged following an alleged brawl in Lake Macquarie earlier this month.
Just before 5pm on Saturday, September 19, police were called to a sporting ground on Minnie St, Dora Creek, after reports of a physical altercation.
Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District attended, however, those involved had dispersed.
Following extensive inquiries, a 22-year-old man attended Newcastle police station about 8.30am on Monday where he was arrested.
He has since been charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Monday.
The Monday after the brawl, The NSW Rugby League (NSWRL) stood down five West Wallsend players from any involvement in rugby league and terminated the team from the Newcastle and Hunter Community Football competition for the season.
The confronting footage of the fight — shared across social media — allegedly depicts both players and spectators involved in the violent incident on the final whistle of a match between Dora Creek and West Wallsend rugby league clubs at Dora Creek Workers Club Oval on Saturday afternoon.
