Cessnock: Driver pulled from car after crashing into shopfront on Darwin Street

The elderly male driver of a car which collided with a shopfront in Cessnock had to be pulled out of the vehicle by emergency services.

Emergency services have had to pull a driver out of a car after it crashed into a

Cessnock shopfront.

The car left Darwin Street and hit the shop about 10am on Wednesday, trapping the driver inside the vehicle.

The driver, 91, was pulled out of the wreckage and treated by paramedics.

A Fire and Rescue NSW statement said the impact had severely impacted the structural integrity of the shop.

Firefighters were working with engineers to render the building safe.
He was taken to Maitland Hospital with minor facial injuries.
