Police have released CCTV vision of two men they wish to speak to in relation to an aggravated break-in and assault at Broadmeadow which happened earlier this year.
On Thursday, July 11, two men gained access to a unit block on the corner of Young road and Market street, before they broke into a unit and assaulted a 31-year-old man before fleeing.
He suffered head injuries and presented to the John Hunter Hospital a short time after before police were notified.
Criminal Group Squad, Strike Force Raptor North, have been investigating the incident and believe two men depicted in CCTV vision can assist them with their inquiries.
They are described as being of solid and medium build and were wearing high-vis clothing and dark caps at the time and one man was carrying a toolbox.
Detectives are also appealing for information about a silver Camry seen in the area at the time.
Detective Sergeant Peter Walke from Strike Force Raptor North they believe the attack was targeted.
“We do believe it was targeted but we’re still trying to establish a motive,” he said.
“OMCG linka is one avenue we’re investigating.
“We treat this offence as very serious, especially the type of violence used.”
Anyone with information or may know the identity of the men are being urged to come forward. Information provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
