Calboy stole his owners heart after she had lost another dog to cancer
An energetic and beautiful boy, with little manners, Calboy was fostered through Dog Rescue Newcastle only to then be adopted after the two bonded.

Dog Rescue Newcastle has rescued more than 8500 animals in 10 and a half years, rehoming them to loving families.
Rescuing dogs mainly from death row in pounds, Dog Rescue Newcastle is giving our furry friends a second chance, as volunteers become foster carers until they find their forever home.
There’s many heart warming stories to tell but one in particular is Calboy.
Owner Angela Sponza said Calboy came to her after a very hard time in her life, after she had lost her dog to cancer, which was a very traumatic time.
Angela has been a foster carer before - to a very special Great Dane who lived to 15 - before then saw on the foster carers website, a boy who needed urgent help.
“I thought what the hey I have the space, he will only be here for awhile,” she said.
“His personality and looks were totally the opposite of the boy I lost and I struggled, he was so energetic and wanting love, needing training and had no manners.”
But as the weeks went on, she started Calboy in yellow class dog training, walked him every day, and in a couple of months they were bonding.
“DRN were great for support and guidance. He is off the adoption list and I foster failed him and he’s mine now, wouldn’t have it any other way,” said Angela.
