Beresfield man charged with sexual assault of young girl
Child abuse and sex crimes squad detectives arrested a man, 50, at a Beresfield house on Thursday morning. He was hit with a string of charges including three counts of having sexual intercourse with a child.

A man has been refused bail after being charged with multiple sexual assaults on a young girl known to him.
Child abuse and sex crimes squad detectives arrested the man, 50, at a Beresfield house on Thursday morning.
He was charged with three counts of having sexual intercourse with a child (aged between 10 and 14), intentionally do sexual act with child (aged between 10 and 16) and two counts of intentionally sexually touching a child (aged between 10 and 16).
Detectives will allege that the man sexual assaulted the girl on multiple occasions last year.
She was aged between 11 and 12 when she was allegedly assaulted.
The man appeared before Raymond Terrace Local Court on Thursday where he
was refused bail to appear before Maitland Local Court on October 28.
