Rugby league and Parramatta Eels legend Peter Sterling has helped to open the new Bunnings Warehouse Northmead.
The $46 million store covers more than 12,000 square metres and features a three-lane trade drive-through, a large timber yard and an improved nursery spanning more than 2000 square metres.
“This is a great organisation,” Sterling said.
“I’ve had a nice association with them for a little while now but despite that association I’m not getting any better when it comes to handiwork around the place but they give me the right advice and that’s important too.”
Complex manager David Williams added that team members are excited to lend a helping hand in the local community and welcome local residents to the new store.
“Team members have supported a number of community groups already, working together to assist in local community projects such as revamping the Hall Ward in the Children’s Hospital at Westmead by transforming the outside space into a tranquil area where patients can explore, relax and be taught therapeutic techniques.
“The team also visited The Hills School to help assist with their garden area and learning to cook program by providing garden beds, so the children can learn about the germination process of plants and how to grow their own food.
“Bunnings is always on the lookout for opportunities to contribute to local causes and we look forward to continuing to provide assistance to more local community groups in the future.”
Bunnings Warehouse Northmead is located at 1C Redbank Road, Northmead
