An exciting new adventure park is set to be unveiled at Port Stephens, promising to be the ultimate holiday activity for kids and families.

Amid the growing trend of sustainable tourism and recreation, WildNets Port Stephens will work with the local landowners to pioneer a new tree tops facility at Bobs Farm promising to offer locals and visitors a unique blend of recreation, education, and environmental stewardship.

The proposed facility on Nelson Bay Rd, including a mobile office and car park, is set to provide a dynamic outdoor experience that will inspire a deeper connection with nature, spanning four hectares of the native bushland.

If approved it will feature a series of tree tops courses through the canopy, designed to challenge and excite, with varying levels of difficulty to accommodate different age groups and skill levels.

The development is poised to become a cornerstone of community engagement, offering educational programmes tailored for schools, providing students with an exhilarating, healthy, and eco-friendly addition to their learning experience.

The facility will provide a platform for traditional owners to share their cultural heritage with visitors and is set to include educational displays and activities that highlight the local history and traditions.

As part of the operation, WildNets is also proposing to hand over 50 per cent of the profits to local charities, schools and not-for-profit organisations, alongside approximately $20,000 in vouchers annually.

The facility is also expected to attract visitors from a wide radius helping to contribute a healthy boost to other local businesses, while contributing to the economic vitality of the region.

Planners have suggested the proposal will cater to the “active and passive” recreational needs of the Port Stephens community.

“The proposal will include bush regeneration works to improve the quality of the bushland on site,” a planning document reads.

“The proposal is a low impact facility that will not result in any significant adverse environmental or other impacts.”

The proposal is also suggested to promote health and wellbeing, offering activities that encourage physical exercise and outdoor play, supporting efforts to reduce obesity as well as reduce health care costs.
