Two teenage girls charged after allegedly stealing nearly 30 bottles of alcohol from Cameron Park store

Two teenage girls allegedly stormed a Lake Macquarie bottle shop and stuffed nearly 30 bottles of alcohol in shopping bags and a trolley before fleeing. Here’s what we know.

Two teenage girls, allegedly dressed in masks and hoodies, have been accused of stealing nearly 30 bottles of alcohol from a retail outlet in Lake Macquarie.

At about 7.45pm on Monday, police allege two young females, aged 14 and 15, entered the store at Cameron Park and grabbed the bottles of alcohol which included Wild Turkey, Jack Daniels and Grey Goose vodka, placed them in shopping bags before fleeing.

Lake Macquarie Police located the pair a short distance away allegedly pushing a trolley containing the haul of alcohol.

Officers arrested both teens, the 14-year-old girl apprehended after police had to give chase.

Both were taken to Toronto Police Station and charged with larceny and face blackened/disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The 14-year-old was refused bail to appear at Broadmeadow Children’s Court on Tuesday.

The 15-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear at Broadmeadow Children’s Court in May.
