Teens arrested near Waratah police station after chase from Raymond Terrace
Two teens have been charged and a third dealt with under the Young Offenders Act after a police chase through multiple Newcastle suburbs and towns ended just a few hundred metres from a police station.

Two teenagers have been charged following a pursuit through multiple Newcastle suburbs and towns ended just a few hundred metres from a major police station.
Raymond Terrace highway patrol officers were driving along Mount Hall Rd at Raymond Terrace when they found an allegedly stolen white Toyota Corolla about 9.20pm.
“Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however when it allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated,” police said in a statement.
“Road spikes were successfully deployed, and the vehicle was found a short time later abandoned on Platt Street, Waratah.”
The alleged driver, a 15-year-old male, and two alleged passengers, an 18-year-old male and a 13-year-old female, were arrested and taken to Waratah police station – less than 500 metres away.
The 15-year-old was charged with taking and driving a conveyance without consent of owner, never a licensed person driving a vehicle on road, Class A motor vehicle exceeding speed greater than 10 km/h and police pursuit – not stop – driving dangerously.
He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Monday.
The 18-year-old was charged with being carried in a conveyance taken without consent of owner.
He was refused bail and appeared in Newcastle Local Court on Monday, where he was given conditional bail to appear before Raymond Terrace Local Court on July 1.
The 13-year-old girl will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
