A teenager has been charged after a man was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after allegedly being stabbed in the back as he walked along a Hunter street with a mate.

A teenager has been charged after a man was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after allegedly being stabbed in the back.
Emergency services descended on Benjamin Lee Dr at Raymond Terrace about 2.30am on Sunday following reports of a stabbing.
Police said officers were told that two men, both aged 31, had been bashed before one of them was allegedly stabbed in the back.
The injured man was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The man remained in hospital on Monday while his friend had been treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A crime scene was established and an investigation by Port Stephens-Hunter detectives led them to a house at Raymond Terrace about 1.10pm on Monday.
A youth, 17, was arrested and taken to Raymond Terrace police station where he was charged with reckless wounding.
He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Tuesday.
Investigations are continuing.
