Police civilian employee charged with high-range drink driving after allegedly blowing 0.151 at Eleebana

An early morning traffic stop has seen police arrest one of the force’s civilian workers for high-range drink driving after allegedly recording a reading three times the legal limit.

A police civilian employee has been charged with high-range drink driving after he allegedly blew three times over the legal limit during an early morning stop on a Lake Macquarie suburban street.

Lake Macquarie police were conducting patrols at Eleebana when they stopped a Subaru Outback on Burton Rd about 1am on Wednesday.

The driver, 33, returned a police result after being tested.

The man, who is attached to a specialist police command, was arrested and taken to Belmont police station where he underwent a breath analysis.

Police allege he returned a reading of 0.151 – three times over the legal limit.

He was charged with high-range drink driving and is due to appear at Belmont Local Court on June 26.
