And not just the vital support unit behind the talented men we all know, but some are making waves in their own right, from business owners to legal professionals.
From new and fresh romances to high school sweethearts, here are your red and blue WAGS.
DANIEL SAIFITI AND MIKENZIE McMANUS
Newcastle Knights co-captain Daniel Saifiti and partner Mikenzie McManus have been dating since 2017. The couple live in Newcastle and Mikenzie is an early childhood worker. The pair share plenty of snaps together, Saifiti calling her his “rock” and posting on social media he is “so lucky to have you in my life”.
MITCHELL PEARCE AND KRISTIN SCOTT
Despite a rocky past six months for the former Knights captain and his lady, after their wedding was called off in December, it seems the pair have made amends, with reports she helped Pearce with recovery after his latest pectoral injury. A former professional dancer, Scott founded Barre Effect on Hunter St. She’s appeared on the X Factor Australia, The Voice, Dance Academy and Puberty Blues and is also a 13 times National Physical Culture Championship winner.
JACOB SAIFITI AND IMMOGEN RODIER
The Knights forward has been with his girlfriend for around six years, with the couple posting plenty of pictures to their Instagram, also with their dog Koba. As her LinkedIn suggests, Rodier is in field marketing for Red Bull. Saifiti is often caught gushing about the blonde bombshell, posting she is always there when he needs her the most.
MITCH AND CLARE BARNETT
The red and blue enforcer took his lady off the market when they got married in 2018, alongside some of his teammates as groomsmen, up the coast at Harrington. The pair appear on Instagram together as far back as 2016. The Australian Podiatry Association lists Clare (formally Crossingham) as working at In Step Hunter Podiatry in Raymond Terrace.
DAVID AND CHLOE KLEMMER
High school sweethearts, David and Chloe Klemmer met when they were just 16 at Fairfield in Sydney. The couple have four children together, young boys Cooper, David and Jaxon and recent addition a new baby girl.
LACHLAN FITZGIBBON AND SOPHIE HANLON
The happy couple appear regularly on each other’s social media pages and look to have been dating since around 2016. Hanlon is the daughter of one of Newcastle’s prominent solicitors Mark Hanlon, and works as a legal secretary at his firm Lambton Law Solicitors. Fitzgibbon saying on Instagram, Sophie is his “favourite person ever”.
TYSON AND SAMMY FRIZELL
Married in 2017, Mr and Mrs Frizell have two kids together, young boys Axton and Easton. The pair can be seen on social media as far back as 2013. Sammy is the founder of a children and baby’s clothing store, a unique Australian boyswear brand ‘Eastaxe’ which was born after she wanted to style her boys well.
BRADMAN BEST AND AMY WOOD
It looks to be a new love on the horizon for the NRL teen sensation. Just this month, Best posted to Instagram about being a “lucky man” alongside Ms Wood.
JAYDEN BRAILEY AND LILIANA BROGAN
The good looking couple have been dating since 2017 and feature heavily on each other’s social media. Brogan states she is a marketing manager at ‘keep it cleaner’. Brailey said of his girlfriend, she is his “rock” and is always in his corner through thick and thin.
JAKE AND STEPH CLIFFORD
The two love birds recently wed in March, and said it was “the most magical day of their lives”. The pair look to have been dating since 2018. And for the newest member of the Knights clan, the Clifford’s are also expecting their first child — a baby girl — in September.
HYMEL HUNT AND ELLI SMITH
Hunt and Smith are on the way to the altar after getting engaged in November last year. It looks like the Newcastle back met his teacher love in 2017, with both posting plenty of loved up pictures of each other on their social media. Hunt always referring to Smith as “my glamour”.
BRAYDEN MUSGROVE AND TIARNA RENSHAW
The pair are a relatively new couple, and started dating according to Facebook in November last year. The outside back and his lady sharing plenty of affectionate pictures together on their socials.
PASAMI SAULO AND KATE STOBBS
This young couple loves a laugh and posts plenty of family pictures to their socials with their two boys Hikairo and Manuia. Saulo and his blogger partner were teenage sweethearts and have been together for six years. Stobbs is involved with ‘the minority experience’, creating awareness on global Indigenous affairs.
GEHAMAT SHIBASAKI AND FRANKIE DAISY
It’s been a six year romance for the Newcastle Knight and his lady who is from Townsville. Daisy has posted to Instagram pictures of her working as a flight attendant for Virgin Australia. Referring to a picture of the couple of Instagram, Shibasaki said “time flys when you’re having fun”.
SAUASO AND LIZA SUE
The pair married in 2017 and are parents to two young boys Ezekiel and Zion. Sauaso commented on Instagram that he “loves doing life” with his better half.
ENARLI TUALA AND LAINA HUNT
Facebook official since 2016, this fit couple seem loved up with plenty of gushing pictures scattered throughout their socials. “Appreciate you”, Tuala commented on a picture of Hunt.
SIMI SASAGI AND KATE HUGHES
The young Knight — who debuted in April — and Hughes are pictured on social media together since 2019 and regularly comment on each other’s posts.
