Newcastle High School students donned their best for their formal at Merewhether surfhouse

With a stunning backdrop of Merewether Beach, Newcastle High School students turned on the glitz and glamour for their end of year formal. SEE THE PHOTOS!

Suits pressed, dresses sparkling and shoes shined, year 12 students from Newcastle High School turned on the glamour for their end-of-year formal after a turbulent 2021.

It comes as many end-of-year celebrations have kicked off across the Hunter for students and staff to reminisce of the year that was.

No doubt Covid threw everyone a curve ball, with home schooling the norm.

85 students in year 12 at Newcastle High School sat their full HSC this year, with 78 year 11 students also getting involved in HSC exams as part of the Early Commencement Program at the school.

78 of those year 12s attended their formal at Merewhether Surfhouse on Thursday, with a stunning backdrop of the beach, and dinner and dancing on the agenda for their night-of-nights.
