Nelson Bay stabbing: Raymond Terrace couple charged over alleged screwdriver attack
A man suffered two partially collapsed lungs after he was allegedly attacked with a screwdriver on a Nelson Bay street. A couple have been charged over the incident.

A couple have been charged over an alleged screwdriver attack of a man on a Nelson Bay street.
Port Stephens detectives had been investigating the alleged attack following a street brawl on Donald St in the early hours of March 13.
They allege the victim, 41, suffered multiple wounds after being stabbed with a screwdriver about 1.30am.
Port Stephens-Hunter police were called to a Shoal Bay Rd home after receiving reports of the alleged attack on Donald St and found the man suffering several stab wounds to the back.
He was treated by paramedics before being rushed to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition, suffering collapsed lungs as well as bruising and lacerations to his head.
Police searched Donald St and “located a number of items which were seized for forensic examination”, police said in a statement.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.
On Tuesday, nine days after the alleged attack, police arrested a couple at a home on Dungaree Way, Raymond Terrace.
Jack Pearman and Georgie Marks, both aged 26, were taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Both faced Raymond Terrace Local Court on Tuesday where they were refused bail to reappear in court on June 6.
