A 25-year-old man has died two days after being rushed to hospital following a head-on crash in the Hunter Valley.

A man has died in hospital two days after being involved in a two-car crash in the Hunter Valley.
Emergency services were called to the New England Highway at McDougalls Hill, near Singleton, about 6.15am on March 5 following reports of a crash.
At the scene, police were told that an SUV and a utility collided head-on about 300m south of the Magpie St intersection.
“The driver of the utility, a 25-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being flown to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition,” police said in a statement.
“The driver of the SUV, a 59-year-old man, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by road to the John Hunter Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.”
Hunter Valley police established a crime scene before it was forensically examined.
On Friday, police were notified the 25-year-old man had died in hospital.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
