Former plastic surgeon and now disgraced sex predator Richard Sackelariou will face a day-long sentence hearing where six victims are expected to confront him over his predatory crimes.

The disgraced plastic surgeon who lured underage girls into hotel rooms for sex after grooming them with gifts and cash will face his victims during a day-long sentencing hearing next year.
Richard Sackelariou, 68, will be brought into Newcastle District Court in person to hear up to six victim impact statements from the young girls he has admitted grooming during a year of predatory offending between September 2021 and October 2022.
The former Vaucluse doctor – a veteran and sought-after surgeon of 40 years who had practices in Sydney and Melbourne – pleaded guilty last month to 10 charges after prosecutors withdrew a further 30 counts.
The charges, both state and Commonwealth counts, include using a carriage services to procure someone under the age of 16 for sexual activity, six counts of cause child between 14 and 18 to do an act of child prostitution, possession of child abuse material, cause a child 14 and over to make child abuse material and possession or control of child abuse material using a carriage service.
On Thursday, Newcastle District Court Judge Roy Ellis set aside a full-day next May to deal with the sentencing proceedings, which the court heard will include up to six victim impact statements read to the court and other submissions from both prosecutors and defence.
Sackelariou remains in custody on remand and will be transported from jail to attend the May 13 sentencing proceedings in person, the court heard.
Sackelariou was dramatically arrested at his upmarket Vaucluse home last year and charged in relation to two girls before investigators added more charges relating to another four victims.
All six victims were aged between 13 and 15 when they were preyed upon by Sackelariou, who would contact them through various social platforms including Snapchat, Instagram, imessages and an adult dating website seeking arrangements as well as sugar daddy websites, according court documents.
He would offer to pay them money for naked photos and videos before eventually asking them to meet up at hotel rooms.
Facts state the Double Bay surgeon travelled to the Hunter Region on several occasions after arranging to meet up with three of the victims on Snapchat at Novotel Newcastle.
Court documents revealed one of the girls gave him oral sex in his hotel room.
Facts detailed how Sackelariou groomed a 15-year-old girl from Sydney online before he begged her to meet up and offered to pay her $1000 for sex.
When she said no, he offered her $3500 for a 30 minute meeting before the pair arranged to meet up at the Chatswood Quest apartments where he gave her repeated compliments about her body before he engaged in numerous sexual acts.
Sackelariou met up with a 15-year-old girl in Queensland on two occasions at a park and a McDonalds after promising her money, according to court documents.
He would pay the girls hundreds in cash each week before upping the amount when they met up with him. The girls received their cash in a white envelope.
