Boy, 16, and girl, 15, charged after Glendale shopping centre guards allegedly assaulted
Two teens were arrested after a fracas in a busy shopping centre carpark ended with one security guard with a fractured cheekbone and a second guard suffering multiple bite wounds.

A teenage girl allegedly twice bit a security guard and fractured the cheekbone of a second during a shopping centre carpark fracas kicked off with allegations of shoplifting.
Police said officers were called to Glendale shopping centre, in Lake Macquarie, about 6pm on Wednesday following reports of shoplifting and an assault.
At the scene, police were told that two teenagers – a boy and a girl – had entered Kmart before allegedly stealing some items.
“A security guard, aged 31, approached the pair and retrieved the items; however, was allegedly assaulted by the boy as a result,” police said in a statement.
“A short time later, a member of the public, aged 38, came to the assistance of the security guard; however, was allegedly assaulted by a teenage girl.
“Police will allege a 15-year-old girl hit the guard in the head with a water bottle and bit him twice on the arm.
“A second security guard came to assist and was also allegedly assaulted by the girl suffering a suspected fractured cheekbone.”
The boy, 16, and girl, 15, were arrested and taken to Toronto police station.
The boy was charged with breach of bail, shoplifting, and assault person with intent to resist/prevent apprehension.
The girl was charged with breach of bail, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the company of others.
Both were refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Thursday.
